Our long-term drug rehab in North Carolina can help you get back on track. Changing Tides offers 30, 60, 90, and 120-day extended stay treatment options.
Too many times we see people stuck in an endless loop of outpatient detox and relapse, going through the detoxification programs but never fully integrating what they’ve learned into their daily lives. Traditional drug rehab centers aren’t always the answer either because they are often full of restrictions – no phones, no laptops, no cars, no real-life experiences. Some don’t even allow that morning cup of coffee. Clients are usually cut off from family and friends and monitored 24 hours a day.
While some find lasting recovery in this kind of highly restrictive environment, we believe the majority of people do better with fewer restrictions and more personal freedom with the continued monitoring and accountability that you need. You need to rediscover the balance and beauty in your life in a way that makes sense in the real world. You need a place where you can find that balance with dignity, privacy, and respect.
You need to find a way to break the cycle.
A Holistic Approach to Long-Term Drug Rehab in North Carolina
At Changing Tides, we take a different approach. Our beautiful ocean-front property is the perfect setting for our holistic approach to treatment and healing. You’ll participate in a structured treatment program of research-supported therapy designed around your individual needs while staying in a private beach-front suite on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.
We offer 30-day, 60-day, 90-day, and 120-day process-based therapy programs run by master’s level counselors; certified alternative therapies and medical support for withdrawal symptoms as appropriate; Yoga 12 Step recovery programs that combine the physical and mental health benefits of yoga with the support of AA meetings; and Refuge Recovery programs, founded on Buddhist principles of meditation with AA meeting support.
Imagine waking up and taking the 30-yard walk across the beach road to our private beach deck, where you’ll watch the sunrise, or go for a run along the sand. Take part in group therapy sessions or meditation classes on the beach, and take advantage of the serenity here to fully focus on your recovery. Changing Tides is not an institution; we offer a real-world environment where you’ll stay connected to what matters most to you:
- You’ll have the time and space to breath. Enjoy time with your peers or take time for yourself, while always having access to our supportive treatment facility staff who are monitoring your long-term recovery every step of the way and providing you with professional treatment advice as part of relapse prevention.
- Keep your phone, your laptop, and other devices, as long as they don’t interfere with your recovery.
- After the first month, you may be allowed to use your own vehicle.
- You’ll prepare your own meals in your suite’s full kitchen. Our staff helps with healthy meal planning and provides transportation for shopping.
- Your suite is cleaned weekly, so you can focus on recovery, not housecleaning.
- We even allow pets in some cases. Clients have brought their cats, dogs and even their fish when they come to stay with us.
Recovery is about family, too
Your family is an important part of the long-term rehab process, so we encourage them to visit after the first week or two. Family members are also welcome to participate in family therapy sessions with their loved ones and may be approved to stay with you in your room. Your family can see your residential treatment progress and be a part of your recovery process. (We ask that families visit on the weekends when possible; our schedule is less structured then, and you’ll have more time to spend with your loved one.)
The True Cost of Substance Abuse
As you consider your treatment options for drug addiction, ask yourself what the real cost will be if you don’t find the help you need. What will it cost your relationships, your career, and your physical and emotional health?
Drug addiction can be treated successfully. Effective substance abuse treatment doesn’t just reduce drug or alcohol addiction. It also reduces the steep costs to your health, relationships, and well-being. And paying for addiction treatment programs may be more affordable than you realize. It’s time to choose. You can stay trapped in the cycle of addiction, drug treatment, and relapse, or embrace a future of hope and recovery that our North Carolina rehab center offers.
